As much as you may not like it, if the XB2 performs worse than the XBO, it is inevitable.  Investors, nor Nadella, are going to want MS to continue to release HW if it continues to underperform.  It's why they are pushing PC and this Live expansion.  If they can't rule the console space with their own HW, they'll try to do it with SW and online.

Trojan horse, indeed.  I highly doubt Sony will go along with this, as they are fine with their own online services, and so are tens of millions of people.  Nintendo may be struggling a bit fleshing out their online service, but they would be foolish to agree to this.  It may turn out to be one of those...
