I don't want to have to use use yet another Launcher, especially not one with very dubious privacy and lacking in features to boot. And I'm by far not the only one with that feeling.

Honestly, if Epic wants to compete, they should do so by offering more and better features and deals compared to Steam, and not by trying to buy exclusivity, as that will only drive them away. Just see how "well" Windows store is faring, I know many who opted to buy an XBO just to avoid having to use it.

I do understand that the statement is based on economics, but my god, it would have sold well for sure (the previous ones did at least) without pulling out of Steam. But with that stunt, I'm not sure it can anymore. 3 of my friends played the previous games, but they will leave out this one out of spite for pulling out of steam at practically the last second.

Incidentally, don't you have the same issue with Origin? I know it did this back when it first lauched but as far as I can tell aren't all EA games still exclusive to that store?

I'm not supporting EA, and as a result I'm not using Origin at all. My newest EA game is Dragon Age Origins. Same goes for any other publisher's launcher except Uplay (due to a gift, never bought anything there)

Steam ain't even my main Launcher, that's GOG since 2012 and the demise of Stardock Impulse (bought up by Gamestop, immediately stopped using it despite having been my main digital store until that point); I only started using Steam due to Kickstarter. Their codes and betas mostly used Steam, so I had to install it then. But apart from a handful games not available on GOG amd the Workshop, I rarely use Steam.
