1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - the Zelda game that threw out half of the formula and had the worst story to date (not counting NES), but still went on to be one of the highest rated games ever. this game is just fun to run around in, get lost, defeat enemies in any style you want, and just have a great time.

2. Super Mario Odyssey - when game is so fun that moving from place to place is enjoyable, you know its good platforming. i just wish it had DLC since for as fun as it is, it has surprisingly little replay value

3. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - exactly what you would expect from a Xenoblade game. some good gameplay, lovable characters, and a story that dumps 90% of the lore and important world building details into the final act. i love this game and hopefully the Switch can receive more Xenoblade titles.

4. Splatoon 2 - including the Octo Expansion, you are getting a living, breathing world to dive into, with an amazing single player story and amazing online gameplay.

5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - the best parts of every Mario Kart game ever made just mashed together into one amazing game.

6. Super Smash Bros Ultimate - after so many years, my dedication to Smash has run dry. i still really enjoy these games and get hyped for every new character, but all of the above are just games i would rather put time into.

7. Namco Museum - im a sucker for Pac-Man. and this game is basically just a solid way to play the original Pac-Man anywhere you go, plus some other games i care much less about.

8. Super Mario Party - this game came dangerously close to being the perfect comeback. my only gripe is that you cant set the turn limit past 20 when in past games it could go up to 50. it ends the fun right when it just starts to begin.

9. Pokemon Lets Go - a fun game with some nice spins on the classic formula, and a good first step for Game Freak on a home console. but its nowhere near my favorite pokemon game

10. Mario Tennis Aces - this game was a solid 9/10 in its first month and then a 6/10 for the rest of its lifespan. the dwindling online community has drastically increased the matchmaking time, and people have discovered that certain characters are easily exploitable. but back when this game came out, and people were still learning the mechanics and strategies, it was amazing. it was... and now its not...
