Except the Metroid Prime 4 delay has been met with a more favorable reception and it didn't hurt that the game had NO release year so there was more of a chance the game would not release this year. Fans apparently were understanding of the situation and are excited (though some are a bit cautious due to the turnover over the years) that Retro Studios are now partaking in development of the game.

I kinda get where you are coming from in terms of early 2019 games, but that doesn't seem to deter Nintendo at this time. They already have a lot of positive news in regards to their holiday sales, despite the change in their hardware forecasts. They have an idea of how/when they want to announce more details about their upcoming games. They do not make announcements just because some minority group demand it.

You will just have to get a word from Senior Managing Executive Officer, Shinya Takahashi, about what's coming up from Nintendo, as he oversees all Switch software. :P

It really doesnt matter how good their holiday season was though if they lose all momentum from a crappy 2019 start  imo lol

Eh, its not the greatest start, but there are games out there from January-March, the final quarter of the fiscal year.

Think what you want about NSMBUD, it appears to be doing its job in intriguing new and current owners of the Switch as it appears to be selling reasonably fine.

Could Nintendo do better? Sure. Is it only January heading into February? Yes, it's only January heading into February. Plus, you still have the evergreens (now including Smash Bros. Ultimate) that are continuing to sell exceptionally well and carry the message about the Switch. They even posted a new TV spot this month along with presenting indie highlights from Nintendo of Europe. Hell, they even announced a couple new open tournaments (Smash and Splatoon 2) to maintain their media presence. So it's not like the whole month went by and Nintendo has not said #$%&.

Nintendo will present their upcoming games when they are ready to at a time they believe is appropriate from their marketing and strategy perspective. If its February, then its February. You're not gonna get monthly or weekly messages about the next Animal Crossing or Pokemon, anyway, until around the time near launch. :P
