If a girl would reject your son (which I doubt, I don’t think American girls are that shallow) later on because she doesn’t like the look of his thing, she probably doesn’t deserve him anyway so I wouldn’t be scared about that. 
EDIT: Also, the easier to clean argument is strange. That’s like saying it’s better to pull out my teeth because I’ll have to brush them...
