Lucky me, this is not only my POV, but I got the numbers to support it. We are so late in the gen, than its safe to say PS4 breaks all the predictions, in all kinds and shapes one can predict, and also was a huge comeback for Sony, because PS3 was just a "fine" console overall.
Yep, Nintendo had its comeback with Switch - the other side of the coin is - and what all of you here reject to consider it- what the price of it is.
They have now only the 1, not 2 active separate gaming platforms ( last year it was hidden thanks to Minis,but thats all ), the top scoring exclusives on Meta above 90 for Switch so far, despite all the party and big words here, it is only Super Mario Odyssey that is a brand new game, the rest is necrobumpin Wii U's games. I remember well Remasterstation4 here before, and yep, only TloUR in the top scoring exclusives, so far.
Despite all the walls of text how good Switch will perfom in software because unification, the actual line up for 2018 was a disaster, the 2019 looks only slighty better, the 3rd parties are nowhere to be seen, heck, even Vita and some 3DS games got their new installments on PS4, not Switch.
The brand new ideas for Switch, what Nintendo is known of it, new unique ideas, we all heard it multiple times, like the Labo or Arms... you know it already, so I will not waste my keyboard. Funny thing is, this is the actual Switch, that is so glorified, aaaand what bring in cancers from classic platforms like DLCs or paid online in Nintendo' sphere.
The sales fight between the PS4 and Switch is now over. PS4 is simply too old, it did what it had to. It managed to outsold it, period, try next time. I dont like the Nintendo sales model where the bulk of the sales is done in Holidays/Christmas, because it's more who has the better deals, not who has better product/games, the game is rigged, i prefer to compare the sales in normal periods without it, but hey, sales is sales.
