Yep, most people don't do trophy hunting =p but also I saw just Persona and HZD among the pictures as exclusives, that is why I though that maybe you had played in friends house (most of the games I played in Wii and X360 where in friends even though I bought the consoles later).
But I am suprised that you said not that many exclusive games. Click on it and you can see I have all of the big ones and quite a few smaller ones as well dating back to Killzone and Knack. I think the only big game I have not played yet is Spiderman due to my backlog already being too big.
I didn't click, my fault. So exclusives for PS4 were P5 and HZD with others being possible to be played on PS3 or I not recognizing the logo.
Still that is off-topic and was just my curiousness. Like some people that had like PS from 1 to 3 but didn't get hooked by PS4.

3. No as the Switch is a home console that has a feature to play games on the go. It plays 3rd party multiplat console games and all of Nintendo's home console style games are released on it as well.
However the Switch is in a unique spot as based on future SKUs and wether or not they release a handheld only version that cannot be docked. This really is a debate that no one can win based on what time period you may be potentially looking at and the events of that period that have yet to happen.
As of now however, the Switch is a home console as that is how it is treated and developed for overall. Years down the road based on business decisions that may or may not happen, my stance could change however.
Down the road for me I see a potential for they having stationary only, HH only and regular hybrid. That certainly would depend on scalability and Nintendo commitment to keep all 3 as good performance and meaningfull choice. We know from data that Nintendo released sometime ago that there are a good number of owners that only play undocked or only docked plus off course a good bunch that play both ways. So there is potential for more sales if the can improve battery and reduce price for HH, improve power and get some more MPs or prettier Nintendo releases on dock only.
4. They both had core console games and therefore were competing directly, they just had their own offerings of core experiences to choose from. The Wii however was comprised as mostly casual friendly games and experiences, but also had some core games as well. I feel the Wii was competing in the same market as the PS3 as well, but the core gamers that bought the system were front loaded and their focus shifted overtime.
On Wii I would say most were casuals, but with great games and constant releases they had a healthy 30% (or 30M) "hardcore gamer" or Nintendo enthusiasts - I myself wanted to buy Wii, but since my friend had it I played enough in his house that I didn't need to buy it during gen, just bought later.
Then when they mis marketed the WiiU...well we all know what happened there lol. even good products when not well placed can suffer.
