1.  Since launch day...I mean you see my sig, right?

1 would be part of 2 right? =p

I see your sig, but since not many trophies or exclusive games it could have been on a friends console that you have played some of the gems. I'm glad you are being able to enjoy the exclusives you like on PS4 and Nintendo exclusives plus selected MPs on the go.

2. Ok thats you, but that does not mean they are not directly competing.

Again it goes back to the other thread discussion, so let's not keep it on discussing.

3. If they do not make a dedicated handheld, they dropped out of the dedicated handheld business.  Just because they made a home console with a feature, does not mean it would automatically take its place in the handheld market (though some could treat it that way I suppose).

So are you saying they have dropped from dedicated home console since Switch can be take on the go so it isn't dedicated to home?

And the problem with your reference to the Wii is the you have to look at the libraries.  The Wii was mostly comprised of a specific type of game.  The Switch is mostly comprised of core games from both 1st and 3rd parties.  This puts them in the same market as the PS4 and X1.

If we were looking at libraries then Nintendo wouldn't be competing with Sony since N64 I guess. When Switch have almost all the same games as PS4 and X1 that could be taken in consideration (even if their owners aren't the same type of group)

By the way. I "found a Switch" on my backpack... Was doing some organizing and I found 270USD lying around that will very much go to gift my son with a Switch and I will be able to play Pokemon with him S2.

1.  I have most of the PS exclusives, but I usually do not waste time with collectibles or tedious tasks which is why I only have 5 plats.  It takes a lot to get me to plat a game.  For example, I got the plat in GoW because I just loved it so much.  I am a c hair away from the plat in Horizon Zero Dawn, but did not feel like tracking the collectables down.  I fully intended to, until it actually came time to do it lol.

But I am suprised that you said not that many exclusive games.  Click on it and you can see I have all of the big ones and quite a few smaller ones as well dating back to Killzone and Knack.  I think the only big game I have not played yet is Spiderman due to my backlog already being too big.

2. Agreed

3. No as the Switch is a home console that has a feature to play games on the go.  It plays 3rd party multiplat console games and all of Nintendo's home console style games are released on it as well.

However the Switch is in a unique spot as based on future SKUs and wether or not they release a handheld only version that cannot be docked.  This really is a debate that no one can win based on what time period you may be potentially looking at  and the events of that period that have yet to happen.

As of now however, the Switch is a home console as that is how it is treated and developed for overall.  Years down the road based on business decisions that may or may not happen, my stance could change however.

4. They both had core console games and therefore were competing directly, they just had their own offerings of core experiences to choose from.  The Wii however was comprised as mostly casual friendly games and experiences, but also had some core games as well.  I feel the Wii was competing in the same market as the PS3 as well, but the core gamers that bought the system were front loaded and their focus shifted overtime.

Then when they mis marketed the WiiU...well we all know what happened there lol.
