I dont know if Nintendo has ever actually used the term hybrid. They have always described it as a home console that you can take anywhere.

They used the term system, they never really called it console or portable from what I recall but a home gaming system that can seamlessly be taken on the go which can be taken as a fancy way of saying hybrid.
