BTW, the OP is wrong, because the cut scenes were NOT the proof of the advantage of CDs over carts. It was cost. The cut scenes were stuff the developers threw in, but they could have worked some into the N64. It would have just cost too much money to sell those games in cart format (why the DS uses an inexpensive SD card variant instead of a cart).

Since DVD9 costs almost nothing, that game does not show that blu-ray is superior to DVD9, in the way CDs were superior to carts. Higher capacity was not the advantage. It was higher capacity combined with costing on a fraction of the other format.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
