Who cares about the others, we are talking about Nintendo. Microsoft never had and never will have a presence in Japan and if it was as cut and dry as handheld vs console than PS4 wouldnt be matching PS3 while Vita is only 1/3 of PSP.

In the first two years Japan made up ~36% of 3DS sales.

In the first two years Japan made up ~23% of Switch sales.

Well if you wat to be fair.....

look at handheld sales of the last nintendo platform in japan. And the Home console sales of the last nintendo platform in japan. I won be suprised if switch sales in japan is somewhere in the middle.

Then compare that to sales of the PS4 in japan (traditional home console) and you will probably find that the NS is not selling like a traditional home console in japan. Its selling better.

I am being fair, I find it concerning that you find issues in my argument using actual data but not his which is nothing more than a rant.

You are correct, Switch is significantly ahead of Wii U and significantly behind 3DS. How in any way does that support a handheld or console argument?

If you want to bring up PS4, how about we also being up Vita? It's the worst selling Playstation system in Japan ever, had a ~70% drop from PSP and sold just over half of what PS3/PS4 have/will sell.

By the logic you and CrazyGPU are using, Vita should have sold much more than PS3/PS4 because handhelds are more popular than traditional consoles.
