MS & Sony don't need to release hybrid consoles. Conventional consoles have been doing just fine:

Four straight years of sales above 9 million units combined between the PS4 & XBO (and this year is sure to be five, likely over 10M), a streak that their predecessors from Gen 6 & 7 couldn't pull off. No need to fix what isn't broken. Also, going the hybrid route would mean going backwards in terms of power, because such a system will never be as powerful as what a dedicated home console released at the same time could do. The Switch is far closer to the 360 & PS3 in power than it is to the PS4 & XBO.

Do you think the Switch will sell over 6m in 2019 and if you do do you think it will be it's peak year. I've heard that Nintendo consoles usually peak early.

Also how down yoy do you expect the PS4 and XBO to be?

2018 estimates

PS4 ~5.4m

NSW ~6.0m

XBO ~4.5m

I'm thinking in 2019 PS4 & XBO will have a 15-20% decline and NSW will have maybe a 5-10% increase.

PS4 ~4.5m

NSW ~6.5m

XBO ~3.7m
