In the: Peter Moore is corporate vice president of interactive entertainment at Microsoft. Interview by Mark Androvich.

Peter Moore goes on to state, "From a sales point of view, we did announce today that we had hit 11.6 million sold. A little shy... We had said that we'd hit 12 [million], and that's kind of about 12, but a little shy."

So my question is even if MS counts sales as shiped to retailors surely more than 10.13 million. Are there more than a million 360's sitting on store shelves?

Another popular video game tracking site puts the 360 sales at 11.3 million.

I'm willing to settle for an average of all 3.  (11.01 million)

They probably are sitting there, yes. 360 is doing well overall, but it's trailed off quite a bit. It's certainly not selling out. There will be excess inventory until September/October, and then the holiday season hits.

If you're talking about NexGenWars.com, I think they're aware that their numbers are a bit off.
