The 3DS getting monster Hunter off psp and then Vita was huge. That imo was a major factor for it's overall success. 

Since Nintendo still failed to meet their fiscal year forecast, yes. Yes, it needed to be that big.

The 3DS exclusivity of Monster Hunter played a much bigger role in Vita's failure than 3DS's success. For the 3DS it would have hardly made a difference if it didn't have Monster Hunter.

But is the fiscal target the only thing that matters? I don't think it is. 

 

Also suggesting MH which brought a different audience to the platform in their millions wasn't doing much is crazy.
