Its obvious that this site adjusts numbers when other companies, i.e. not publishers, release sales figures. However, I have never seen Media Create or Enterbrain change their figures due to their differences. Basically, they only use their figures as canon.
ioi has always said his area of improvement is the lower selling games and his greatest accuracies are in Hardware. This just makes sense.
I really like this site as a compilation site of estimates from worldwide sources. However, that is not how ioi has advertised it and I think that is where this author is laying the blame.
In the end, fiscal reports are always reasonably close for hardware and high selling software. To me that is all that is important as I am not a journalist and could care less if vgc or npd,etc are closer to the real number. VGC is free and is by far the best site for vg sales data.
