Yes it was.
The fact you had a tablet as a controller and can do off-screen gaming was a testament to that, the distance from your "base station/console" was just a limitation.

Off screen gaming and portable gaming are not the same thing.  The WiiU was a dedicated home console, not a  console/portable hybrid.

It is one or the other. Because some of those other devices were "mainstream". - Or do you have another goal post to shift towards? I.E. Sales/Popularity?

 

What are you talking about?  I said the Switch was gen 3 then.  I am just simply pointing out that the Switch was the first one to make a real impact.  I never said it was not one way or the other lol.
