Back in the day when Mortal Kombat had its resurgence title on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, one of my friends from Nintendo and I had a good discussion about how Link could be implemented in the game/how it would just be cool to have him if the title came over to Wii.

Of course that was mostly just a topic for fun and the game never did make its way over to a Nintendo platform, but now with Mortal Kombat 11 confirmed for Nintendo Switch, the possibility certainly exists.

You’d have to figure that Ed Boon would want a Nintendo character in MK and also that one would be allowed by Big N to kill so brutally/be shown getting killed in multiple ways...buuuut...if it worked out, I think it would be a major win for that version’s exclusivity brag.

A dark, twisted Bowser would fit in well. Ganondorf, more sinister looking than ever would be cool. Both are villains and either would be welcomed in my book. Of course Link would be epic as can be, but due to being one of the poster boys and totally human in look...that’s a lot of violence to give to one of Nintendo’s finest.

Still, I’m all for one of their inclusions. What do you all think?

And regarding the second part, how would you feel if the second or third SSBU DLC reveal was a Mortal Kombat character? This would be a kind of dual promotion of sorts and pretty sweet in my opinion.

Then I’d get my Ryu vs Scorpion! Haha. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

(Before anyone says that Nintendo would never allow their characters to engage in such brutality, don’t forget that they did give Bayonetta the ability to wear plenty of Nintendo’s characters’ clothing and the ability to summon Bowser to squash baddies. On the flip side, Sub Zero’s multiple freezing moves would be very cool and/or Scorpion’s “Get over here” could just wrap around characters’ torsos instead of going through their chest.  And finally, The Pit would look great in SSBU!)
