If that one doesn't count, then it's probably either Lost Odyssey or Alan Wake. The former because by being a very traditional turn-based RPG it ended up being one of the freshest RPG experiences of what was a very experimental gen, not to mention it was a very enjoyable tale altogether, and the later because it was a fun action-horror game with some quality line delivery (not on the level of Max Payne, but almost there) and an awkward yet interesting progression through the levels.

EDIT: shout-out to Fable 2. One of the most unique action/adventure RPGs ever made!
