Among the big Japanese publishers, is Nintendo the least creatively risk-averse?

Splatoon, ARMS, Labo, 1-2 Switch, Snipperclips, Sushi Striker, Dragalia Lost (Mobile game but still)? Where have you been for the last 2 years? 

Like he said the number of new IPs from Nintendo is sad. Even more so in the console space, and the few that they do fund are pretty much indie level productions.

MS gets a lot of flack for rehashing same couple IPs but Nintendo is far worse than even MS.
