Units in millions: 2017: 3.3 2018: 3.6 2019: 4.5 - (Animal Crossing, Pokemon Gen 8, price cut/hardware revision that brings the Switch price to $250) 2020: 4.2 (Pokemon Gen 4 remakes) 2021: 3.8 ($50 price cut to $199) 2022: 3.9 (Pokemon Gen 9) 2023: 2.4 (Nintendo Switch 2 launch) 2024: 1.3 2025: 0.6 2026: 0.2 (Discontinued) 2027: 0.04 (Final Year on market) Final Tally: 27.84 million |
Seems reasonable if the lifecycle is typical, but I'm not so sure we won't have some surprises along the way, starting next year.
