I really just feel they should stick with checkerboarding.

I get all the gains of going with native 4k, But going with 2160pCB ends up with a very great faux 4k image. And one that when done right leaves very little to be desired as far as image quality goes.

I feel so much else can be improved or even higher framerates can be achieved instead of blowing most of a games rendering budget on rez. Though I also know that devs will never push fr higher framerates unless they are somehow hardware restricted to do that. Devs will always (r mostly) go for the most eye candy they can et at 30fps.

Sony has already started with built in hardware for CB..... I think this should be improved and a prtion of the ram bandwidth and CPU cores be locked out from devs and only accessible when using a "performance mode" preset which will half the rez but increase framerates. So normal mode will run at native 4k at 30fps then performance mode will run at 2160pCB@60fs.
