I'm new to Smash Bros and am an experienced gamer, not in hardcore territory though, I just play and enjoy games and am happy to invest time in them and try to get better.

That said, Smash Bros really could have done with a tutorial mode. I still don't have much of an idea as to what's actually going on. It's a strange and bonkers game, and I had a very rough knowledge of the game in advance. But as I said, I'm still baffled while playing, and if you didn't know about the knocking off the platform etc.., you'd be completely stuffed in my view.

At this point, I'm not really enjoying it, but I will persist and maybe do some research into what it's all about. However, you shouldn't have to do this in this day and age, so a bit of a fail from Nintendo in my view.

I wouldn't even begin to ask someone who had never played it before to join me for a game, they'd probably think I'd drugged their drink!

I haven’t watched the How to Play video in the movies submenu, but if it’s like the other entries, it should help you with the basics you need to understand how to play the game. I hope it’ll help you enjoy the game more.
