UK market is never a good representation of the rest of Europe, so don't bet on UK = EU. And.... why are you expecting Ultimate selling almost twice than Brawl did in Japan ??(it did around 800k). Smash Bros has always been popular in Japan, since day one. They're not more hyped than they were 10 years ago.... I expect something flat or barely better, even reaching 1M, but 1'5M is too much. Zelda became the best selling Zelda game because it was the best and most hyped Zelda since Ocarina of Time in a more popular console, in a time period where every big and successful AAA game sells more than 20 or even 10 years ago (Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, .... are good examples). Ultimate will be treated like Brawl was...,maximum profit by Nintendo by not bundling the game excessively. Edit: Were you talking about those US sales in first week??....lol..., no way, don't be crazy. Remember first week = 3 days. |
UK is not good a representation for Nintendo in sense that its not strong Europe market like it is for MS or Sony, but actually point that Smash Ultimate had best launch for any Smash Bros game (including Wii and 3DS ones that had much higher install base in that time, sold around 62% better than Brawl on Wii) is very encouraging for rest of Europe. I said Smash will sell around 1-1.5m in Japan based on informations we having, Switch Smash Bros bundles, preorders, interest, hype...and yes, this Smash is more hyped than previous ones in Japan also.
Offcourse thats one of reasons, but on other hand its obvious that big/great games have great legs on Switch, we saw same thing with all biggest Switch games, Zelda, MK8D, Splatoon2, Odyssey, even games like Mario Party and Kirby seems that has very good sales, same will be with this Smash game.
No, it will be treated like MK8D, Zelda and Odyssey, just with even longer legs because we want have new Smash game on Switch. Smash Ultimate will be in any case one of must have games for any new Switch owner similar like MK8D, Zelda and Odyssey are currently.
Yeah, dont forget, Pokemon sold 3m in first 3 days, and Smash Bros has much higher hype than Pokemon Lets Go had in any case, so Smash Bros will probably done more than 5m.
