I know this is an old post and maybe your opinion has changed.
The thing is Sony has already emulated the PS1 very well and its been done on various Sony platforms. Either the emulator was poorly designed or the specs are crap. This kinda reminds me of the Sega Genesis TV devices, it poorly designed but Sony is actually pushing this device.
Maybe I'm asking for too much but in a world using HD screens, maybe they should have opted for a resolution boost in games. That was a benefit of playing N64 games on a Wii or Wii U.
