Concerning bombing we sadly will be disappointed, I assume, as it’s currently pretty high on Amazon’s top 10.

I didn’t really care for this thing, but this really seems like a quick cash in with a low quality not typical for a Sony product, which is really disappointing. Really hope this isn’t related to John Kodera as new Playstation boss and a sign of things to come.

It is said that us forum dwellers happen to be out of sync with the general audience sometimes, and that we misgauge the public interest of certain games and products. I wonder if this will be the case, too, and if people will still buy this thing nontheless.

I would understand it more if it were just the average impulse buying consumer who is blissfully unaware of how many corners were cut and what a shoddy product this turned out to be.  What I find sad/alarming is how many people are commenting on the YouTube Reviews in particular with things like "I don't care what you say, I'm still buying it", and "Doesn't matter, this product is right up my alley because Nostalgia".  These are people who have been properly warned, but insist on keeping their heads stuck in the sand like an ostrich.  That kind of behavior from a fanbase sends a very dangerous message to Sony that it's okay to ship out a poorly manufactured device to market because as long as the "Sony" logo is slapped on the face of it, there will be no shortage of people willing to throw their money at it.  That's a really bad precedent to set in my opinion.  It gives the manufacturer "zero" incentive to put any further time, money, or effort to do better on future products.  The fanbase will have already made it known that they don't care about quality.  Which is a shame, if that's the case.  But, as the old saying goes, "A fool and his money are soon parted."
