Yes, as a Christian it is plain as day for me to see that Jesus would abhor the current Republican Party. I have no idea what mental gymnastics any devout Christian needs to see the Republican Party as anything that could be remotely perceived as offering Christlike virtues and practices, but it's frankly one of the oddest things about the current American political culture. Jesus' entire ministry is about helping the sick, needy, afflicted, and downtrodden. That's pretty much the antithesis of the current Republican Party's mantra.
