Was watching some video on youtube the other day where the guy talked about his early access to the game.

One thing I found interesting was his talk of the catching mechanic. He said it brought about excitement and a nervous rush or something to that extent.

I mean think about normal catching. You use status effect (sleep, para, ect) and then weaken them. Then throw balls till caught. No worries, just time consuming. Only worry is if pokemon has explosion or like teleport, or the occasional crit killing it when trying to weaken. Barely any do and you know those dozen that do.

This new method though, the pokemon actually runs from you. You use a berry or two to calm them, ease them, make them easier to hit, ect. Then you're throwing balls and praying each throw that they don't run away upon that ball not working.
