Agree 100% with the first point. Nintendo is charging for an online service that’s the same as it’s always been. The paywall has not brought with it superior service. Also that Nintendo app has become a punchline, and cloud saves should really be gratis.

But I disagree with the second point. I’m really enjoying this NES Netflix-style service. According to my play time history, I’ve logged 10+ hours in it, thanks to family and friends who enjoy the old-school accessibility of the titles therein. Paying $17 a year for that (I have a split family plan) is fair, in my mind.
