If World of Light has a decent amount of cutscenes, it will probably be better than Subspace. It already looks more thoughtful with that beautiful overworld and the Spirit mechanics.

Subspace's cutscenes are overrated anyway. I just played through it for the first time a couple days ago, and honestly the cutscenes were pretty bad, most of them looked really cheap with some awful CG, which I think is to be expected given how many of them there are and how much a game like Smash needs time and resources dedicated to other stuff. Still, it was quite jarring. Brawl's art style didn't help, either.

The gameplay wasn't anything special either. I thought the subspace stuff was pretty good, especially the great maze, but everything before that was just kinda there. I guess it could've been quite fun on a solid engine, but unfortunately it is still Brawl.

All of that said, the subspace entrance cutscene was quite awesome.

Well yeah, they were on Wii DvDs and the Wii had a low output res. Plus I think Nintendo budgets their games more appropriately than most

For what its worth, I remember them being AWESOME and I probably wouldnt agree if I were to go watch them all right now.
