One reason why I thought the rumoured Star Fox GP game would be real was because it fits with Nintendo's desire to keep expanding their online multiplayer range. Animal Crossing will presumably make a big push with online options on Switch next year, Pokemon gen 8 is an obvious one for online functionality, and Luigi's Mansion 3 might feature some online multiplayer given the 3DS game did.
It's difficult to think about what else they could bring out - there's older franchises like Wave Race and F Zero, but they don't sell in big numbers and wouldn't necessarily result in a wider audience playing online. Perhaps if Nintendo took the Tomodachi series online? Some new IP?
