Its from jon peddie research apparently, and they track how many chips AMD sold to both MS & Sony.
Supposedly Sony has bought 99m chips (so they could manufacture 99m if they wanted too).
While MS (at the time of the report) only had ordered 37m chips.

Suggesting that there at most could be like ~36m XB1 in the world, if this Jon Peddie Research report is accurate.

It’s a bunch of estimates and also incorrect. The PS4 number for 2017 is incorrect and XB1 numbers are also incorrect. Unless the XB1 sold less than zero units outside the US in 2017.

It’s just a market research company trying to guess at total sales. The PS4 numbers from 2013 to 16 are straight from Sony’s financial reports.
