You pretty much say in your post what my point was. If you are going to condemn Trump's rhetoric then you need to condemn Waters'. But as far as i am concerned people are responsible for their own actions. That someone lacks impulse-control is on them, no one else |
Yes, we all are responsible for our own actions but leaders are in a place and position to influence others. Its the reason we appoint people to position of power because we trust their judgement in our place. It's irresponsible for any leader to abuse their power and be careless of their words. The problem with Trump is that he wants to be president but doesn't want to act like one. Many people have told him he isn't TV entertainer anymore so he has to be way more careful with his words and speech because it has more impact. Just tweeting things before going through the proper channels is a case in point. Another one was when he was about to tweet something but people told him not to because it could be considered an act of war because the perception it raises. This kind of stupidity is what so dangerous about Trump.
Also just to set the record straight, CNN and other sites did condemn Maxine for her comments. Not only that but all the top Dems also condemned her for her comments. What you will not find is a lot of Republicans condemning Trump for his comments. I guess that is the difference we see from both parties. It appears Republicans are willing to roll with Trump divisive ways while the Dems are not willing to do the same for their own party.
