This. It's not only a matter of selling numbers, but to be as profitable as possible. With a price cut Sony would still sell PS4 with a profit on hardware, they would litterally overshadow the competitors, but the overall profit would be less, in the long run. Price cut must happen when it is needed, at the right moment, no rush.
Sony is doing all great, and it is very well deserved ;)
