Anyone play Child of Light before? How is it? I've heard some good things, now that it's on Switch was somewhat interested in getting it.

The game got a price hike for seemingly no other reason than being called an Ultimate Edition. I didn't see anything in the description that suggested additional content.

Child of Light lives off its battle system, a simplified version of the early Grandia JRPGs, and the music is pretty good. Exploration is boring because the ability to fly means that you can go everywhere without challenge. Story and writing are atrocious. The original version ended all of a sudden because the development budget wasn't there, there's no indication that this new version made the game complete. Doing all of the few sidequests won't push your playtime above 10 hours, so this is an RPG on the short side.

I definitely don't recommend the game at this price. Considering how many RPGs Switch already has and is going to get, there's actually no reason to bother with Child of Light. After all, the first two Grandias have already been announced for Switch, so the best part of Child of Light can be had in better quality and with a better price/value ratio soon, provided you aren't appalled by remastered Saturn/Dreamcast graphics.

This definitely seems like something that will go on sale in the eShop in a few months, so I'll just wait it out.
