Care to elaborate on why? I just finished getting the platinum trophy and I straight up do not understand the hate for it. The only criticism I've heard that has any value is that 'it plays itself', which though technically true does require you to program your characters that way with the gambit system.

The game playing itself is just an elimination of redundancy rather than mashing X to constantly attack and occasionally tossing a potion or reviving characters.

For me it was indeed the "playing itself" part and it also started the trend of you controlling only your party leader which I hate. The story was great and refreshing but the gameplay felt like walking my party from fight to fight.

I know a bit what you mean, it was like Xenoblade, but they forgot to put in the commands.

To be fair FF12 was more about planning and I felt on that level it did work well - the unfortunate thing for me with FF12 was the. and I try to convince you of this knowing he was probably the guy who designed the battle system you hate!

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
