Then you are part of the problem.  Take a look at scumbag dictators throughout history.  Essentially all of them endeavored to disarm the populous as soon as they could.  Why?  Because armed people aren't as easy to control.  If you're willing to cede control of your own safety to a scumbag government, I have no sympathy for you.
