Bethesda has not done a good job of communicating the concept of the game simply. Every time I try to watch Fallout 76 commentary with those long gameplay videos, I just get bored. I really think the marketing for this one has been a bit off. It just seems like the multiplayer spin-off in a year where companies are obsessed with incorporating multiplayer gimmicks (like Battle Royal). Even if it isn't though, it hasn't been communicated as such. |
I agree, they haven't been the most transparent in regards to this game, which is partly why I've made this thread. I'm sure not many people know we will be getting a huge amount of gameplay footage in 5 days.

First of all, they have stated there will only be cosmetic microtransactions. Secondly, all those cosmetics can also be obtained by playing the game - there is nothing that can be bought with money and cannot be obtained through the in-game currency obtainable by simply playing.
Lastly, a number of anti-griefing measures have been confirmed. Apart from the slap system that I mentioned in my prior post, your camp/settlement has a blueprint with which you can easily rebuild exactly the way it was, in case it's destroyed or anything. The wanted system is also pretty brutal, no one will running around doing things like attacking players/attacking player bases without severe consequences
