Honestly who cares if not everyone is playing at 4k, 1440p120 is pretty damn good too, and right now is probably the better option for most people.
Oh, and lets not forget about running at greater than 120 fps, or using multiple monitors.
4k isn't the only thing people on PC desire, and the best part is, they get to walk their own paths, and decide what they want to target.

I agree. As for myself, I find 1440p 144hz to being my ultimate sweet spot for the next 3-4 years. it allows me to max out the games, as well as gaining a res bump and a performance boost past 60fps. I value that trade more than 4k and a possible 60fps. 4k just isn't there for me yet. I'll jump when we get 4k res textures for all sorts of objects/NPC's, as well as being able to maintain just past 60 and at decent settings, until then it's 1440p max+144hz for me.
