ive made this predication many months ago and im sticking by it. the 3DS will be dead by E3 2018. there is not a sustainable audience on the platform anymore. you may say "it has over 70 million units sold, how can you say it doesnt have an audience" thats units, not users. at least 40% of all 3DS users own at least two, some even own three. so take that remaining 60% or 42 million and consider that a lot of those remaining units are left to collect dust in used game stores, or thrown in a drawer and havent been touched in over a year. how many active 3DS consoles do you think are left after that? not enough to keep it alive, thats for sure
