I already have them on PS3/Vita, but I would gladly buy them again for PS4, especially if they put in trophy support. I have no problem buying media again in new formats. I like having all of my stuff organized on one device or format. I have rebought movies on VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, and PS Video. I have original PS2 games, that I re-bought as remasters on PS3, and rebought again as remasters or PS2 on PS4 games. If Sony put up the entire PS1 catalogue today, at $9.99 a pop, I could easily come up with 100 titles I would rebuy. |
And you'd probably be the only one that wouldn't call Sony a bunch of money-grabbing assholes for coming up with an excuse to force people to re-buy a game that many people have already bought twice (hard copy and digital copy) just to play it on a new console. The vast majority of people who would be interested in playing PS1 games on their PS4 would rather just play the digital copies they already own than pay for a new one with trophy support. Almost no one, besides you, is going to spend $10 a pop for a PS1 game with trophy support. Never mind the work that would have to go in to adding trophy support would probably never justify the profits of a $10 price tag, and that's if they even had the rights or means to modify the game in the first place. Unfortunately for many of these titles, the source code has been lost, and they would have to be reverse-engineered in order to make any modifications, and that's just the start of it. But again, this is yet another instance of you glossing over a technical challenge that you don't think is a big deal because you don't actually have a good understanding.
Are you sure your last name isn't Dunning-Kruger? How come you keep getting mad at Sony for not doing something you want them to do that clearly doesn't have mass appeal?
