view distance being lower on a GC port of a game again comes down to where you shouldn't judge hardware based on poor software, the GC simply has more RAM and a more advanced layout for memory than the PS2, shorter view distance comes down to a dev not utilizing the hardware of the GC as you might have suggested the port might not sell as much as the ps2 counterpart, considering that system had 6x the userbase at the end of the generation.

True Crime launched on both systems at the same time though, so not sure about the "way after" part you mention when it comes to release dates.

There must be a language barrier or something. I keep agreeing with you but it still feels like we're arguing.

I agreed with your point lol, Cursed barrier between Irish and American language!!

If you mean the last line I'm just wondering which ports you meant came ages after, I'm fairly sure that Hitman 2 came to the GC long after it had been on the ps2 (but can't be certain if that was just Ireland game stores being bad) Metal Gear Solid was ported long after the playstation original.... but that port is imo one of the best remasters/remakes in history (even if it does have Pinky voicing Grey Fox...... BONE AND SINEW, NARF)

Think it just comes down to how I was gaming at the time in the mid 2000's games being ported from other systems a few years later didn't take away from me enjoying them on the GC, considering I'm working towards collecting all the PAL games for it and playing through them all I can safely say that I always have had and will have a soft spot for the Cube.
