I hope that it's not implemented in a way that's intrusive; like an extra loading screen or sign-in form needed to fill out every time you launch a game with online. But really though, it's cheap. It's not going to break the bank for anyone, but with so many subscriptions Nintendo will be making a ton of money.
It's hard to justify being upset about this when the competition has been doing it for years. It's when Nintendo inevitably raises the price that will really be upsetting. It would be like "Oh, people didn't mind paying $4 per month? Well what about $8 dollars? We could double our revenue!"
