Sony and Nintendo both were greedy in the Nintendo Playstation deal. Sony wanted to claim licensing fees for all games on the Nintendo Playstation. That would also mean Nintendo's own software when the deal was only supposed to be hardware related. No other company wanted to do this with hardware deals like Sega and JVC with the X Eye. Nintendo also was greedy and back handed with licensing fees back then. So you have 2 negatives that obviously tore the deal apart. So yes, Nintendo wanted CD Technology of their own but Sony wanted to claim licensing fees for software they didn't own. It was never meant to be and it worked out the best for both of them. Let's be honest here.
