Nintendo is Japan, isn't it obvious? If your country meet an earthquake that affect many people, you wouldn't want a company ignore that and show a direct to celebrate their new games as well as online service right after, right? Not to mention many places in JP lost electricity.

Nintendo might be Japan, but it has a fanbase across the world.

If you paid attention to this conversation before it got here, I was questioning why they delay for the earthquake, but don't care when the US about to get by hit by a hurricane.

Believe it or not, there are many Nintendo fans there too. Shocking, right?

Not only JP, but in almost all Asia countries, people's lives are a lot more values than something like game. Game can be lost, you can go buy another, human life is not. If Nintendo ignore the accident and ignore over 60 death people while showing a direct to celebrate their new game and online service, they will get backslash like crazy for sure in both Asia and JP. Don't forget JP is the second biggest market for Nintendo. Not to mention Asia and JP cultural are very different compared to the West.
