Dead Cells on Switch is outselling the PS4 by a factor of 4 to 1

Also the "Nintendo switch gamers just buy any title cos of a drought" 2 things about this. 1, the switch currently has close to 1100 games on it, machine is out for around 600 days, math will tell you about the drought I hope. And 2, if a majority of the switch users had a PS4 as well.... They could just put down the switch and buy a title like spider Man this month, that is of course, if 80% of them have not put down the ds4 to enjoy the amazing dead cells on the switch.

Well, to be fair, for Dead Cells the extra horsepower does nothing. Which is exactly a reason to prefer the Switch-version, because you don't lose anything, but win portability. And what boggles my mind is, that everyone who could easily point out that Dead Cells doesn't utilize the horsepower of the PS4 instead goes for the no gamez argument, while currently a different thread states that most Switch-owners are multiconsole-owners and in this thread people pointing out that Nintendo-consoles are always secondary consoles only for the exclusives. Mind blown.

I agree with almost all of this post, except for the bolded point here, with the PS4 you most certainly have more features for social gaming which are lost by going with the Switch version, by that I mean, at the very best right now on Switch you can capture the previous 30 seconds of gameplay at half frame rate (30fps, half for most games) and upload that to twitter/facebook as a tweet later on, and that's not to mention that still the majority of games don't have that functionality, heck there are titles like the horrific wwe port which doesn't even allow you to take screenshots. The Ps4 however constantly has the ability to pull up the last half an hour of gameplay (at 720p on the base ps4) and has a host of editing tools to put together movies, as well as featuring the ability to upload the clips after to youtube and twitch.... ya know... places where videos exist. Also the ps4 can be used to stream your gameplay live to those services and lets you interact with viewers live as you play in both text and voice. Switch has none of those social features.

 

Also achievements, while obviously not a huge thing in terms of having impact on the game, it has to be stated that there are gamers who would enjoy having a profile online which keeps a record of their various accolades in games either for their own browsing or for others on the internet (comes in handy at times when idiots try to play the "you prolly didn't even play d gaem ur tlking abut" card which flies around at times even on this site!)  my own sig has a glimpse into me as a gamer if anyone is interested you can see pretty much the time when my Xbox achievements stop (the x1 reveal) and my psn account starts to roll, up until March of last year. Sorry this became a tangent but I'm saying for some people, even on a minor level, having achievements in a game over the version of a game which is missing them, isn't a "nothing" being lost.

 

Still though, rest of the post couldn't be more on point imo, the narrative of the console not having games, the console only being for Nintendo exclusives, the console not being the choice that anyone would buy 3rd party on, all of those have to be shuffled around and ignore portions of them when it comes to tackling good Switch news threads by certain people and it's a bit sad that they'll forget the dig they just made in another thread about a console when it might damage their argument about it in another.
