But not cheaper than Nintendo consoles and Switch is Nintendo console not Sony or MS console, it has higher price point than Wii and same price point like Wii U (base model whithout game), also not to mentione that 3DS had price point of $250 but only 6 months after launch needed to have price point to $170-180 in order to start selling, simple $250 price point for handheld was too high. So like I wrote, Switch has price point of home console not handheld, so no, its not strange thats not selling more because has price point of $300 that far away from price point of handheld (>$200).

With so many people these days spending between $300 to $100 for a mobile phone, the switch price point will not make it a hard sell whatsoever. Unlike 3ds which graphically it's games were terrible compared to switch, which makes it a much harder sell when it's games visually look so basic.

Switch is a step up from the vita graphically. It's the natural progression and I believe in today's world its price no way confirms it as mainly a home console. If they took the portability out of the switch it would be selling more like the Wii u hence why Nintendo will never make a traditional home console again. They just don't have the pulling power anymore to pull it off. That requires top class AAA support and to get that they need to make a powerful machine capable of supporting them all. And we can see Nintendo aren't willing.

I dont talk about mobile phones, I talk about consoles/handhelds, fact is that Switch dont have handheld price point but home console price point. The switch price point will not make it a hard sell whatsoever, but you cant still expect really strong sales in Japan when Switch has price point of home console not handheld. Power and graphics dont change much, PSP and Vita were stronger and had better graphics than DS and 3DS, and yet DS sold almost twice better than PSP and 3DS become 3rd best selling gaming hardware in Japan ever. So no, its not strange thats not selling more because has price point of $300 that far away from price point of handheld (>$200), and when actualy Switch gets price point of around $200 in Japan, than will Switch relly start selling like crazy in Japan.

Reason why Nintendo went with hybrid nature of Switch dont have anything with power but with point that Nintendo couldn't support effectively two different platforms in same time any more.
