Yeah Ridley and every Smash Bros. character ever being in the game weren't big things. Oh wait, you were expecting something at the end that wasn't Smash? Well, congratulations on setting yourself up for disappointment. Nintendo's E3 2017 had Super Mario Odyssey all over it, and it was what they finished with, no one complained. E3 2016 was Breath of the Wild only. Nintendo didn't have to announce any big games for beyond 2018 at E3, because they were already announced previously. We already knew Metroid, Pokémon and Bayonetta are coming. The only reason Nintendo even bothered showing Fire Emblem was because it was previously announced for 2018, so they had to clear up the situation regarding that game. Otherwise, they didn't talk about anything 2019 at all, except Daemon Ex Machina, which I guess no one really understands. |
And that's were they should have stopped, everything else they showed was a waste of time in that current context.
edit: And the Odyssey-trailer was less than 3 minutes long
