For some reason, people actually like this even less and become less likely to buy a product. I know people who were perfectly fine with Battlefield V until EA started making stupid comments, and then they decided not to get it. Reminds me of what happened with Ghostbuster 2016. The director and actors made similar "if you don't like it, you're a bigot" comments. Turns out, even people who aren't bigot don't like ultimatums like that and don't want to support emotional blackmail.
