2018 feels comparable to 2017, just with a few less 1st party critical darlings and a few less niches represented to scratch everyone's various itches. 2019 is going to be amazing, with Fire Emblem, Yoshi, Daemon x Machina, Bayonetta 3, Pokemon, and probably Pikmin 4, maybe Metroid Prime 4, and possibly even Animal Crossing, just with 1st party.
