I agree with all of this, but NSMB2 actually outsold 3D Land by a bit though. It’s only 12.12m against 12.70m but still.

Ah, I went off VGChartz numbers, which showed 3D Land ahead by a similarly tiny amount. I wasn't aware of the official numbers. It's still too close for a normal 2D Mario sales performance.
